ADVOCACY & PUBLIC POLICY
POFPS Board of Trustees and Committees
The Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society (POFPS) Board of Trustees and the POFPS Public Policy Committee are committed to supporting the membership on all levels of advocacy.
POFPS State Advocacy
The POFPS has a vantage point on the advocacy playing field that is unique and unlike any other physician organization in the state. POFPS represents its membership on advocacy issues important to both Osteopathic medicine and family medicine. These include:
-
Scope of Practice Issues
POFPS recognizes the value of the entire clinical care team whose members work with our Osteopathic family physician members. The POFPS supports the team should be physician-led with the Osteopathic family physician coordinating and advising the team with the patient at its center.
-
Insurance Issues
POFPS supports measures that work to reduce paperwork and unnecessary barriers to care for patients. The more time spent with patients, the better the outcomes.
-
Patient Access to Osteopathic Family Medicine Care
The POFPS support policies that will continue to produce additional Osteopathic family physicians who want to practice in Pennsylvania.
ACOFP/POFPS Federal Advocacy
POFPS is a state affiliate chapter of the American College of Family Physicians (ACOFP). POFPS works to align with the ACOFP on federal advocacy issues important to Osteopathic family physicians.
